I'm not quite sure what to say this morning after another tragedy occurred in this country. Boston Marathon. Patriot's Day. There are no words for the countless injuries, scarred memories and loss of life at what should have been a celebration.
The world can be a scary place and it saddens me that we have to try to explain to children why they shouldn't live in fear. I will not live in fear, but remember to be vigilant. I will hold yesterday and all the other terrorist attacks in my lifetime in my memory. I will be thankful for the brave men and women who ran towards a tumultuous, unpredictable scene to help people in need. I will remember April 15, 2013 and not be afraid. And, over the next few days and weeks, I will keep those who were there and their families in my thoughts and prayers.
“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.' ”
