I'm not typically one to watch award shows, but I always find myself watching and listening to all the clips the next day.  I decided that this year's Oscars would be different and I was really happy I decided to watch!  From selfies, to pizza, Ellen, an amazing set design and a great tribute from Bette Midler, I was in heaven! In true form, Ellen was fantastic and hosted one of the most interactive and fun Oscars I've ever seen.  The shots of her in the audience paling around with some of the world's best actors was classic! I LOVE a good selfie and if you follow me on any form of social media there's hard evidence of that.  So, when Ellen looks as Meryl Streep and says she wants to take the most retweeted selfie ever, I was pretty pumped.  But then Julia Roberts jumps in.  And Bradley Cooper.  Then Jared Leto.  And Lupita Nyong'o and Kevin Spacey and Jennifer Lawrence and those Brad and Angelina people...  This was the result: I alm...

I got through certain periods of time when I find a slew of videos that I become addicted to.  Most are funny and make me laugh, some make me think, others inspire me.  Here are a few of my favorites lately. The Facebook video of Breaking Bad character, Walter White. (I loved seeing everyone's videos, by the way!) Cat Tries to Apologize.  Gets me every time.  A Tribute to Mothers Everywhere!  Original video here . If you grew up in the 1990's, this commercial gets it DEAD ON.  Brilliant, Microsoft! This kid is adorable and incredibly talented!

It's hard to imagine a time where Youtube, Facebook and the multitudes of other social media hot spots weren't in daily life.  That time wasn't THAT long ago and I'll be THAT mom telling my kids one day how, "back when I was in school, Facebook and Google didn't EXIST."  I'm sure itwill be received well! I love social media and I love the ways that it gives me all kinds of information.  What I love most about it lately is that there are tons of websites out there with the goal of sharing positive stories in mind.  There's plenty of bad news and terrible stories out there and I'm personally thankful that people are taking the time to find the good stuff.  The stuff that restores our faith in humanity and a reminder that there is SO MUCH GOOD out there.  Here are a couple of my favorites: Danny & Annie Band of Brothers Be Human I found these videos on www.faithit.com .  They're so great! If you haven't noticed, I'm a pretty big animal lover.  I came across this video last night and just had to share.  It's so sweet and is a reminder that there are really good people out there doing great things! Happy Monday, y'all.

One of the gifts my dad gave me (and I'm sure he has no idea) is a love for this guy: Anytime I hear Tom Petty on the radio, I can't help but smile.  There's something about his music and the way it takes me back to my dad strumming on his guitar as a kid that makes my <3 happy.  There aren't many artists of his time who can say that they've pretty much stayed away from crazy and can keep rocking!  When he played the halftime show of Superbowl XLII, I was completely awed.  Especially since most of their half time shows over the last several years have left much to be desired.  I digress....  I've never gotten to see him in concert, but I would LOVE to!  It's on my bucket list for sure!
