Wedding Week! - Quotes

Well, J and I have been married for 6 months as of yesterday!  And it still feels like yesterday, to be honest.  I figured it would be fun to do a themed "Wedding Week" since I love sharing those stories and looking at those pictures.  Getting engaged, planning a wedding and getting married was such an incredible season in our lives. It was filled with such joy and stress and love and everything in between.  That year-long period of planning seemed at times to fly by and all I could remember thinking was, "Savor this.  Enjoy it.".  And then there were the other times....  In any case, I look back on our engagement  wedding, parties, family and friends with such joy and love.  We are truly, truly blessed and looking back makes me smile and my heart happy. I'm obviously in LOVE with quotes and I knew that I wanted to incorporate them into our wedding somehow.  My first find was a guest book which I wasn't originally going to do...

Star Struck

I'm sure that for others, meeting some sort of celebrity isn't a big deal.  I try REALLY hard not to be all like, "Ohmygoodness!!  Sew-n-sew came into the shop today!!"  However, this week was different. About a year ago, a guy you may have heard of ( SHAQ! ) came into the bike shop, ordered a bike and said, "He'd come back".  We waited and waited with his bike in storage hoping we'd get a glimpse of THE Shaquille O'Neal.  Nothing happened until Tuesday and here's where my nerdy story begins: I'm walking from the back of the store to the front where I see what appears to be Shaq on his bicycle with my co-worker.  I'm looking at him and it appears that he is looking at me too, however he isn't smiling back at me.  During said exchange, I see him mumble something to my co-worker and as I get to the front counter I smile and he says, "I was just telling him I like red heads."  "Well, thanks." I say in complete...

Ladies Night Success!

A couple weeks ago, I told ya about Ladies Night at the bike shop I work in.  Well, it finally happened last Friday and was a success!  Going into the night, we had about 50 people who had RSVP'd on our Facebook page.  I wasn't really sure what to expect and my biggest fear was that there would be a lot of standing around/dead silence/no fun/boredom.  Did we have enough food and beverages?  Are we going to be on time?  Am I as prepared as I think I am?  Is this going to be fun?  WHY IS IT SO HOT IN HERE?!??! We ended up having about 35-40 gals all-in-all and everyone seemed to have a good time.  We served cheese & crackers, fruit & nuts, wine & beer and they were all a big hit!  I think we hit the nail on the head with the ladies when it came to the refreshments.  I had scheduled 4 "mini-clinics" of various presenters and we quickly got off schedule...we didn't even start the first presenter on time!  Oops. ...

Just a Lovely Little Walk

The weather is nice and warm, so Frank and I went for a walk around the neighborhood.  He is definitely still a pup and gets excited when he sees just about ANYTHING: bugs, birds, squirrels...and you wouldn't believe what he does when he sees a person!  I love to watch him at his happiest: running around, smelling all there is to smell and discovering his little world.  He's a happy little guy and that makes my heart happy!  Hard to imagine life without the most    infuriating, adorable, fun, handsome, hilarious, frustrating, funny part of our lives....

Monday, Monday!

Good morning!  I know Mondays can kind of be rough after enjoying a nice weekend and realizing your starting another work week.  My Mondays are actually pretty great: I'm refreshed from the weekend, my head is clear and I'm ready to go! In any case, I thought I'd share some favorite quotes to keep us all motivated...Here's hoping Monday treats you well! “Attitudes are contagious. Are yours worth catching?” - Wendy & Dennis Mannering "Laughter is a powerful way to tap positive emotions" - Norman Cousins Waking up to a new day is a gift, appreciate it and do remember you are loved. Good morning and have a splendid day. - Unknown ''Hey, I know it's Monday, but it's also a new day, a new week and in that lies a new opportunity for something special to happen.'' - Michael Ealy P.S.....I love hearing peoples' favorite quotes, so feel free to share in the comments.
